Associations

Studying is a major challenge. Parents and teacher will no longer keeping you up to scratch. You will go live on your own and meet new friends. What will also be new are associations. Study and student associations create social cohesion between students, they promote their interests and organise activities outside of the lecture halls. ASVA endorses these objectives and therefore supports associations. Fact is that studying is more than attending lectures. Especially the experiences you may acquire within your association are a vital part of your personal development.

STUDY ASSOCIATIONS

A study association is affiliated to your study programme. Oftentimes, study associations give discounts on books and they organise study-related activities such as lectures, tours and travels. ASVA organises the study association consultation (SVO) for both the UvA and the HvA. More information.

STUDENT ASSOCIATIONS

A student associations aims to encourage contact between student amongst each other and between students and ex-students. Since 2003, the Amsterdamse Kamer van Verenigingen (Amsterdam Chamber for Associations, AKvV) looks after the interests of student associations. We have a close working relationship with the AKvV.

PARTNER ASSOCIATIONS

If your association is one of ASVA’s partner associations, you get a €5 discount on your ASVA membership. Besides, partner associations can borrow all sorts of things from ASVA, such as a cycle carrier, a projector, a DSLR camera, a pa-system or flipovers.
