About ASVA

With your support, ASVA can safeguard the interests of the Amsterdam student. Emerged from student protest during WWII, ASVA has been defending student rights and interests for over 65 years. The current lack of student housing and cutbacks on education show the relevance of an active student union. About 60 Amsterdam students are currently committed to ASVA activities.

Aimed at the best student life, ASVA is involved in consultations with local and national authorities, the UvA and the Hva. For instance, ASVA has been successful to put the student housing problem on the policy agenda. Furthermore, ASVA has organised several conferences on topics related to studying and the student life. The ASVA research and expertise centre is working on multiple projects concerning the Amsterdam student. Finally, ASVA is supporting associated partners with an active role in student interests.
